A Weekend With Water & Wonder

Got to spend the weekend with a pretty girl. Most of our time was spent in or near the water, barefoot in the sand, chasing sunsets, chicken nuggets, and fries.

I never planned on having children, Elaina just kind of happened. But what I’ve found is this: There’s nothing else in the world like having someone who unconditionally loves you, always. She reminds me that love doesn’t come with conditions, only presence.

She teaches me how to be better. How to adjust my edges, sharpen my patience, and soften where I need to. We’re a lot alike, wild spirits in small and tall form, and my purpose is to give her the best life I can. Smart, strong, healthy, and free.

The truth is, she’s raising me as much as I’m raising her. Together we’re learning, growing, and carving out a path that’s ours.
